Project Overview

The new elementary school in Azena (later renamed Dr. Getnet Tadele Primary School or GTPS) was constructed to address critical educational challenges facing five rural villages.

The Challenges

  • Overcrowded existing schools
  • Fear of traffic accidents on main roads
  • Long distances from home to school
  • High dropout rates due to distance
  • Unconducive learning environment

The Solution

Building a modern elementary school at the western part of town to provide:
